TRAVEL PROGRAMME

DAY 1:

Arrival by plane or Costal Steamer (Hurtigrute), pick up and transfer to the Hotel in Kirkenes.

ACTIVITY: Northern Lights adventure by snowmobile in Europe’s very last wilderness

We start by bus from Kirkenes Pasvikdalen (25 min.). Out in the open, the Northern Lights are untainted by the artificial lights of the town. Guide provides information as we travel. We continue by snowmobile and drive out onto the ice covering the Pasvikelva river, the border river with Russia. We start on our hunt for the Northern Lights. Light meal and coffee served. A very personal trip with a lot of information about history, nature and our way of living in the North. After the trip transportation back to Kirkenes.

DAY 2:
Breakfast. Pick up at the hotel 10.00.
10.00 – 14.00
ACTIVITY KING CRAB SAFARI: The original king crab safari! We guarantee the largest and freshest King Crabs in the World. Join us for ice fishing by snowmobile/boat (depending on the ice conditions, either a snowmobile or a boat will be used for transport) and catch this giant that can reach 2 metres and weigh up to 15 kilos. Enjoy fresh crab for lunch in the fjordside restaurant, after a unique multimedia presentation. Our safari has been named the best international tourist experience! After the trip transportation back to Kirkenes (ca. 20 min).

DAY 3:
Breakfast. Check out. Pick up at the hotel 10.00.

10.00 – 16.30

ACTIVITY: DAYTRIP BY DOG SLEDGE to the Norwegian-Russian borderland. Join us for sightseeing in Pasvikdalen valley – learn all about our unique nature and culture. Pasvikdalen is home to Norway’s largest population of bear. We drive our dog sledges along the Norwegian- Russian border and into the Pasvikskogen forest. You can drive you own dog sledge if you want, with children as passengers. We serve coffee/tea and lunch outdoors round an open fire or in our Sami lavvu. After the trip transportation back to Kirkenes and to Rica Hotell Kirkenes.

18.00 Pick up at Rica Hotel Kirkenes and transfer to the Snow hotel.

Check in at KIRKENES SNOWHOTEL. Kirkenes Snow Hotel is a beautiful piece of snow architecture and Arctic nature. 10 suites, ice sculptures and live reindeers make this the most photographic spot in the Norwegian Arctic. The Snow Hotel is situated at walking distance from Kirkenes in Gabba – reindeer safari Park. Dinner in the cosy restaurant around the open fire place.

DAY 4: Breakfast at snow hotel and possibility to take sauna.

Transfer to the airport or Hurtigrute.

 

Option: On DAY 4 we can organize a DAYTRIP TO RUSSIA: visit in our neighbourhoods Nikel and Zapoljanry including transfer, guide, lunch and invitation letter for the visa. Duration: 8 hours.
