KI12 Sightseeing in Pasvik valley and visit at National Park Centre

A guided trip by buss to Pasvik valley. Small groups from 2 to max 16 guests – tour with a personal touch and a local guide. The valley is one of the last wilderness areas in Europe and known for its unique fauna and flora. You get both, a nice nature experience and information about the interesting history of this area right beside Russia. We follow the Pasvik river (border river to Russia) all the way to Svanvik. Visit at the National Park Centre, which provides information about fauna and flora and the brownbear information Centre. Several stops along the way where you have good views of the river and to Russia (stops varies slightly with the seasons).

KI31S Kirkenes Highlights – Russian border & Snowhotel

Our most popular tour! In only 2,5 hours you get presented all winter highlights in Kirkenes. A guided trip by bus to the Russian border and the famous Snowhotel. Included is also guiding about Kirkenes, the way of living up here, the local history and our relations with Russia. Small groups from 2 to max 16 guests – tour with a personal touch and a local guide. Our first stop is the crossing point Storskog on the border between Norway and Russia.Your guide will provide information on the various historical events which took place in this area. We continue to Kirkenes Snowhotel. Visit at the Snowhotel which is a beautiful piece of snow architecture. The suites, ice sculptures and live reindeers make this the most photographic spot in the Norwegian Arctic. You get enough time to see all the rooms and visit the huskies.  After this cool experience we go back to Kirkenes.

NEW KI90 Kirkenes sightseeing: Walking tour/tour with kick-sledge in Kirkenes centrum

Walking tour Kirkenes with local guide. During winter we offer the tour by kick sledge, our traditional transportation unit in winter time. Have fun and get interesting facts about Kirkenes history and the daily life (use of kick sledge depends on snow conditions, 2 pers per sledge).

KI31 Kirkenes sightseeing & Russian border

In only two hours, this tour provides an interesting insight into the history, nature, climate and the modern Kirkenes. A guided trip by bus through Kirkenes, to the Russian border and the iron ore mines in Bjørnevatn. We visit the border and your guide will provide information on the various historical events which took place in this area. We continue to Bjørnevatn, a mining community which has experienced significant changes. We drive along the vast spoil bank tips all the way to Storfjellet where the views of Langfjord and to Pasvik valley are breath taking. Small groups from 2 to max 16 guests, the tour is with a personal touch and a local guide.

KI33 Hunting for the Northern Lights along the Russian border

An exclusive northern-light tour in small groups from 2 to max 12 persons, with a personal touch and a local guide. This tour is suitable for families/children. A trip on which our guests sits safely and warmly in a sled (perfect for those who don’t wish to drive a snowmobile but still want to get out into the trail. Perfect for photographers). This tour starts from Kirkenes with a 20 min drive by minibus to Solvang Farm in Pasvik, with guiding en route and stop at viewpoint “Storfjell”. The valley forms the border with Russia and is a fantastic wilderness area. At our base camp at Solvang Farm, we pack you well in before we head off by snowmobile and sled on the frozen river right to the Norwegian-Russian border. The hunt for the Northern Lights begins. After the sled trip, we gather in a cosy hut around an open fire and servea hot beverage.
NB: The guests sit in a sled and don’t drive the snowmobile themselves. No guarantee that you will see the Northern Lights-that depens on weather conditions.

KI17 Northern lights by buss (Aurora Express)

A knowledgeable guide will check the latest magnetic forecast and decide whether to take you by bus towards the Russian border or in the opposite direction toward the Finnish border. We go to the location where we have the biggest chance to see the Aurora. We never know when the Aurora shows up (Northern light can not be guaranteed, the tour can be cancelled due to bad weather conditions)

KI34 Sightseeing by bus: King Crab and Russian Border – min 4 persons

Kirkenes is the King Crab capital of Norway and the only Norwegian border point to Russia. King Crab is an important export article in the north. This fascinating animal coming originally from Russia can grow up to 2 meters between the claws and can weigh up to 15 kg. After a tour around Kirkenes we head to the Russian border and get insight in Norwegian and Russian relations. From the Russian border we move further to the fjord where you get served a fresh King Crab meal in beautiful surroundings while getting more information about the crab and our area so far North.
